Vocation must be ‘about Christ,’ homilist says of the consecrated life
“Our vocation is not about us,” the homilist told the 150-or-so religious sisters, brothers and priests gathered for Mass the morning of Feb. 6 in the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa in Honolulu. “Our vocation is about Christ.”

Diocese offering Mass, anointing for World Day of the Sick
The Diocese of Honolulu, with the support of the Order of Malta, will celebrate Mass for the World Day of the Sick, at 6 p.m., Feb. 11, in the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace. Bishop Larry Silva will preside at the liturgy which will include the sacrament of the anointing of the sick.

Bishop Larry Silva is traveling with 13 island Catholics to the International Eucharistic Congress Jan. 24-31 in Cebu, Philippines. Several others are making the trip from the Big Island’s Sacred Heart Parish in Hawi.
