The diocesan Stewardship and Development office will host its fifth annual “Stewardship Day,” Jan. 28 at Mary, Star of the Sea Church in Waialae-Kahala. This year’s Stewardship Day features a keynote presentation by Father Andrew Kemberling, chairman of the board for the International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC).
Upcoming rites bring deacon candidates closer to ordination
On Jan. 15, 2017, in a special liturgical ceremony at St. Ann Church in Kaneohe at 2 p.m., deacon formation Class 9 members will publicly declare their willingness to be candidates for the permanent diaconate. The diocese’s eighth permanent deacon class, whose members have already completed four years of formation, is scheduled to receive the Rite of Acolyte on Feb. 12, 2017, at St. Stephen Diocesan Center chapel.
