Do you love Jesus and your Catholic faith but get weak in the knees at the idea of evangelizing others?
The diocesan Office for Adult Faith Formation is offering a free, four-session monthly (except for December) series of workshops just for you.
The second Saturday Evangelization Institute promises to help participants “get more comfortable with sharing, talking story, and answering questions about our faith.”
The workshops are 9 a.m.-noon, in the Komo Mai Room at St. Stephen Diocesan Center. Here is the topic schedule
- GASP! What do we need to share about our faith? Learn the bare minimum of the truths of Catholicism. (Sept. 12)
- A “Catholic Style” of Bible talk. Gain confidence that you already know a lot about Scripture. (Oct. 10)
- Dealing with the “sticky” questions. Learn an easy way to respond to anyone who asks you the tough ones. (Nov. 14)
- Why we need the church, Mass and sacraments. Learn what the Eucharist means, why we need a faith community, why Mass matters. (Jan. 9, 2016)
Each session is limited to 16 people. Priority will be given to clergy, wives of deacons, adult faith formation and RCIA leaders, youth ministers and parish administration staff and to those who can attend the entire series.
Register by emailing your name, parish and parish ministry to Kristina DeNeve, diocesan adult faith formation director, at kdeneve@rcchawaii.org. For more information, go to www.catholichawaii.org/evangelization.
For neighbor islanders, DeNeve will offer these sessions in weekend “mini-retreats” sometime in 2016.
