Join Father Paul Li, pastor of St. Roch Church, Kahuku, and St. Joachim Church, Punaluu, on Oahu’s North Shore, for a pilgrimage this spring to see the Shroud of Turin, said to be the burial cloth of Jesus, and shrines in France, Spain and Italy.
Father Li is the spiritual director of the April 8 to April 23 pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage begins in Paris with Mass at the shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, then goes to Lisieux to visit the family home of St. Theresa (Les Buissonets), the Carmelite Convent and the basilica.
The itinerary then visits Nevers, the shrine of St. Bernadette, and to the shrine of Paray Le Monial where the Sacred Heart of Jesus revealed a message to a young nun Margaret Mary Alacoque. From there the pilgrimage moves to La Sallete, where the Blessed Mother appeared to two children in 1846. The group will then spend a whole day in Lourdes.
In Spain, a trip to Barcelona will include an outside visit to the Sagrada Familia’s renowned unfinished basilica.
The trip then goes from Milan to Turin, where the Shroud will be on display for the first time in several years. The pilgrimage then visits Assisi and ends in Rome with a papal audience and blessing.
The pilgrimage is sponsored by Adriatic Pilgrimages. For more information, a flyer or to make reservations, contact Lita Castillo, (808) 671-1352 or (808) 393-7532.
