I came across this quote on Facebook, “There are some people who always seem angry and continuously look for conflict. Walk away; the battle they are fighting isn’t with you, it is with themselves.”
We all have things we struggle with. We also all have gifts. In the parable of the talents and the servants, we learn that it doesn’t matter what we were given, rather, it matters what we do with the talents God gives us. However, in order to use these talents, we must first come to accept our entire self … including our faults. Only then can we grow with God to be as honest as Pope Francis who said, “I am a sinner, but I trust in the infinite mercy and patience of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I accept in a spirit of penance.”
In ministry, we come across people at all different walks of life. I would like to amend the first quote to say “There are some people who always seem angry and continuously look for conflict. BE PATIENT AND MERCIFUL; the battle they are fighting isn’t with you, it is with themselves.”
“May God bless us with courage to accept the beauty of our true self. Amen.”
