“T-shirts, hats, scarves, balls, flowers, bandanas, photographs, letters, drawings, rosaries – and even a bishop’s ring.”

The haul was divided between the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro and the Vatican, Gasbarri said. (Catholic News Service)

Spiritual transformation
Burdened with a fierce temper and stubbornness to spare, Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity was able to rein in her emotions as a child and become a beacon for countless others through her letters and spiritual guides.
Elizabeth Catez was born in France in 1880. She was known for her musical talents but also for her fits of rage, which only got worse until her first Holy Communion in 1891. Her reception of Christ transformed her; Elizabeth became active in her Catholic faith and entered a Discalced Carmelite monastery in 1901. However, Addison’s disease claimed her life just five years later, at age 26.
Elizabeth’s legacy includes her writings to others about embracing and praising the presence of God within them. She was beatified by Pope John Paul in 1984. (www.discerninghearts.com, www.catholicnewsagency.com)
