The faculty and staff of St. John Vianney School in Kailua were privileged to attend an all-day emergency response training Oct. 29 provided by Blue Line Solutions, an organization comprised of an elite team of experts from local law enforcement units that prepares schools and other organizations for a variety of security threats and emergencies.
The training helped classrooms prepare for an active threat/shooter, bomb recognition and response, narcotics trends, lockdowns, intruders, human trafficking, social media awareness and more.
The team also performed mock drills to address a variety of emergencies.
The agencies belonging to Blue Line Solutions that gave the training were the Honolulu Police Department Specialized Services Division (SWAT) (Bomb Detail), Honolulu Police Department Rapid Deployment Force, Honolulu Police Department Airport Operations Group, Hawaii County Police Department Special Response Team, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (Bomb Appraisal Unit) (K-9 Response Team).
