The Diocese of Honolulu will join other U.S. dioceses on the second week in October for the 2019 Diocesan Rosary Congresses to fulfill Mary’s message at Fatima.
Hawaii’s congress will consist of parishes and religious communities doing six-hour periods each of a continuous seven-day relay of Masses, perpetual Eucharistic adoration and hourly rosaries offered in the spirit of reparation to restore reverence for the sanctity of life, to establish peace in our cities, nation and world, and to console the hearts of Jesus and Mary.
This is a primarily lay initiative conducted with the blessing of Bishop Larry Silva.
The relay starts on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. and ends on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. At least 24 parishes or religious communities are needed to cover every six-hour session.
The diocesan Office of Worship, which is organizing the congress, would like all Hawaii parishes and religious congregations to participate and is seeking parish and religious congregation coordinators for the event.
These local coordinators are asked to contact the diocesan lead, Cami Adams, at camikjmj@gmail.com or at (808) 721-2307 by Aug. 22 or sooner with the desired day (or days) and hours they would like to sponsor the event.
