Members of the Knights of Columbus and the Hawaii branch of Knights on Bikes invite Island faithful to a special day of activities July 4 in Kailua.
A barbecue is scheduled at St. John Vianney Church immediately after the annual Kailua Independence Day parade. The annual parade, from 10 a.m. to noon, draws hundreds of viewers along Kainalu Drive from Palapu Street to Kailua Intermediate School.
The July 4 barbecue is a membership drive and member appreciation event for local Knights of Columbus. Food, games and fun for the whole family will be featured at the event.
The growing Hawaii Knights on Bikes contingent will add to the festivities with a rally and ride-in. Knights on Bikes is an international group of Knights of Columbus members who own and ride motorcycles for fellowship and charitable awareness. The group was founded in 2005.
Knights on Bikes on its website describes its mission as “improving the biker’s image, promoting safety and Christian values.”
