Five boys and girls, ages 9 to 14, from St. Ann Church, Kaneohe, and Sacred Heart Church, Waianae, were the winners of the Knights of Columbus Hawaii State Council Free Throw Championships April 8 at St. Stephen Diocesan Center, Kaneohe. Tayden Poti of Council 11485, Waianae, was the 9-year-old boys’ champion. Kawena Kapu of Council 14620, Kaneohe, was the 11-year-old girls’ champion. Tatum Poti of Council 11485 was the 11-year-old boys’ division winner. The 12-year-old girls’ division was won by Rylee Ramirez of Council 14620 and the 13-year-old boys’ division winner was Pryor B. “PJ” Abraham Jr. of Council 11485. Each contestant was allowed 25 free throw attempts. The winners move on to the international level.
