St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church, Mililani, is hosting next month a two-night seminar on the homeless in Hawaii.
Titled “You Welcomed Me: A Dialogue with the Community,” the church at 95-370 Kuahelani Avenue, will feature the Institute for Human Service, or IHS, 7-8 p.m., May 10; and the diocesan Office for Social Ministry and the Social Ministry Commission of St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church, 7-8 p.m., May 11.
According to a flying advertising the event, the sponsors “hope to address the many issues related to homelessness in Hawaii and strive to bring new awareness and inspiration to all.”
The “dialogue” will present general facts and demographics on homelessness, address current outreach and needs, and provide the public an opportunity to discuss the issue. The event is free and open to all.
The event is sponsored by the adult faith formation commission at St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church.
