St. George Church in Waimanalo will honor St. Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint, with a feast day celebration on Sept. 27.
The parish’s celebration of the saint, who along with several companions was martyred for his faith in the early 17th century, began with a daily rosary and novena Sept. 18-26.
On Sept. 27, a rosary will be prayed in various Filipino dialects at 5:30 p.m. The feast day Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m., followed by fellowship at 7 p.m.
