Sacred Hearts Academy is adding a new preschool learning space to its campus as it also expands its early-learning program to younger students.
The Clarence T.C. Ching Junior Innovation Center was blessed July 21 by Sacred Hearts Father Jeremy Sabugo, the school’s campus minister. The center is “designed to inspire creativity, exploration and innovation among the Academy’s youngest learners,” according to a July 30 press release.
Those “youngest learners” may now be even younger than in years past, following a recent announcement by the Academy’s preschool that it is opening up its curriculum to 2-year-olds.
Joining Father Sabugo at the July 21 blessing were Sacred Hearts Academy board members and board members from the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation.
“This center will be stocked with a vast array of state-of-the-art tools, supplies, and hands-on activities to allow young explorers to build these core developmental areas,” Sacred Hearts Academy President Brandy Ann Sato said in the press release. “This specific space also extends the Academy’s commitment to developing female capabilities by enhancing STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics) education during the early, formative years of learning.”
The Junior Innovation Center reflects the Academy’s commitment to “cultivating confidence, curiosity and problem-solving skills from an early age while inspiring future generations of women to become scientists, innovators, engineers, artists and technology leaders,” the press release said
