Kauai Vicariate: Double the joy
The Kauai Vicariate celebrated 200 years of the Catholic Church in Hawaii, as well as Father EJ Resinto’s 10th anniversary of priestly ordination, on the feast of Our Lady of Peace July 9 at St. Raphael Church in Koloa with a solemn thanksgiving Mass followed by dinner and entertainment. The island of Kauai thanks God for the gift of faith that was sown through the Sacred Hearts missionaries. Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Wahiawa
Our Lady of Sorrows’ Knights of Columbus Council 6302 presented its annual scholarship of $800 to Kimberly Barit July 19 at the 9 a.m. Mass. Barit will study digital media at Leeward Community College in the fall. The Knights’ leaders and Barit paused for a photo: front, from left, financial secretary Max Velasco; deputy Grand Knight Sonny Hernandez; incoming Grand Knight Alan Kim; Barit; and warden Florence Barit.
