Blessed Sacrament Father Samuel Loterte, pastor of St. Theresa Parish in Mountain View, celebrated his 66th birthday, 35th priesthood anniversary and incardination to the Diocese of Honolulu June 7 in the St. Joseph School cafeteria in Hilo. It was a joyful, fun-filled and successful celebration. Blessed Sacrament Father Ferdinand Tomo opened the fellowship with a prayer and a song. Blessed Sacrament Father Poli Ty, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Hilo, provided an inspiring message to Father Loterte and offered the final blessing. The event was well attended by parishioners and friends from St. Joseph Church, St. Theresa Church in Mountain View and Holy Rosary Church in Keaau. The program was full of great performers. Big mahalo to Deacon David Watson of St. Joseph Church for publishing the invitation in St. Joseph’s parish bulletin, and thank you to the St. Joseph School administration and Kumu Maile Kipapa for allowing us to use the school cafeteria.
