Join worldwide rosary to pray for priests

06/03/2026 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Special to the Herald

All are invited to take part in the Global Rosary Relay for the Sanctification of Priests on June 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kamiano Center, near the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in downtown Honolulu.

People can also pray on their own or visit the cathedral basilica’s Facebook page to watch a livestream.

Father Pascual Abaya, rector of the cathedral basilica, will open the event, and diocesan staff member Ryan Fielding will lead the recitation of the rosary.

Catholic churches worldwide take part in this event, each station linked to the next, forming a global encirclement through the rosary to pray for priests — their sanctification, good health and personal intentions.

Hawaii’s recitation of the sorrowful mysteries will be linked to the recitation of the luminous mysteries from the Basilica Nuestra Senora del Pilar in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and to the glorious mysteries recited at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
