Bishop’s announcements and appointments

  • Bishop Silva announces the incardination of Father Falaniko Atonio (aka Father Niko) into the clergy of the Diocese of Honolulu, effective April 29. He was formerly a priest of the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago (American Samoa). Bishop Silva also has changed Father Atonio’s status from administrator to pastor of Malia Puka O Kalani Church, Keaukaha, Hilo, Hawaii island, effective April 29.

CORRECTION

In the April 24 story “Catholic nurse aims to build network across Hawaii,” Vebs Dominguez and her husband were incorrectly listed as parishioners at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City. They were married there in 2019 and are currently parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ewa Beach. The Herald regrets the error.
