Calling girls ages 12-18: Join Sacred Hearts Academy for an Easter pilgrimage to France

04/22/2026 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Special to the Herald

Sacred Hearts Academy is planning an all-girls pilgrimage to France during Easter 2027, and girls ages 12-18 from Hawaii’s Catholic schools and parishes are invited to join the once-in-a-lifetime spiritual journey.

The trip will include stops in Paris, Lourdes and Poitiers (where the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and of the Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar was founded) in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Catholicism in Hawaii.

Pilgrims will discover the rich history, culture and cuisine of France while walking in the footsteps of the saints and deepening their devotion to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

They will also learn more about the congregation that brought Catholicism to Hawaii; experience Holy Week in France, including Easter Mass in Notre Dame Cathedral; nurture their faith with daily Mass, reflections and prayer services; and build new friendships with peers from across the state.

The pilgrimage will feature safe and supervised travel, overseen by experienced chaperones including Sacred Hearts Father Jeremy Sabugo and Sacred Hearts Sister Katherine Francis Miller, to convents and monasteries of the Sacred Hearts congregation.

More details will be available in the coming weeks, including an online information session for interested girls and their families.

A previous information session described the historical and spiritual significance of the pilgrimage as well as the route, daily activities, travel logistics, enrollment steps and financial options. The chaperones for the trip were also introduced.
