  • Feb. 9-17, retreat of the bishops of the San Francisco Province, Jesuit Retreat Center, Los Altos, California.
  • Feb. 18, 12 p.m., Mass for Ash Wednesday at Cathedral Community, Kamiano Center, downtown Honolulu.
  • Feb. 19, 10 a.m., diocesan department heads, St. Stephen Diocesan Center (SSDC), Kaneohe; 12 p.m., Hawaii Catholic Conference, SSDC.
  • Feb. 21, 5 p.m., Mass with rite of election for Hawaii island, St. Joseph Church, Hilo.
  • Feb. 22, 1 p.m., rite of election for Oahu vicariates (Liturgy of the Word only), Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, Honolulu.
  • Feb. 24, 12 p.m., Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation (virtual).
  • Feb. 25, meeting of the board of trustees of St. Patrick’s Seminary, Menlo Park, California.

Bishop’s announcements and appointments

  • Bishop Silva announces the incardination of Father Anselmo R. Bobier Jr. (aka Father Jun) into the clergy of the Diocese of Honolulu, effective Feb. 2, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord. He was formerly a priest of the Diocese of Legazpi, Philippines. Bishop Silva also has changed Father Bobier’s status from administrator to pastor of St. Mary Church, Hana, Maui, effective Feb. 2.
  • Bishop Silva announces the appointment of Malcolm Zara to a second term as a member of the Augustine Educational Foundation, effective Jan. 1, 2026, to Dec. 31, 2028.
  • Bishop Silva announces the election by the members of the Augustine Educational Foundation of the following to serve on the board of directors from Jan. 1, 2026, to Dec. 31, 2028: Dr. David Coleman; Mr. Rick Stack; Msgr. Gary Secor.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Presidents’ Day.
