Faithful honor St. Marianne on her feast day

01/28/2026 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

People gathered at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa in Honolulu Jan. 23 to mark the feast day of St. Marianne Cope with a special Mass. Bishop Larry Silva, above left, celebrated the Mass and blessed the first-class relic of St. Marianne, which was displayed for veneration. The Diocese of Honolulu and the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities — St. Marianne was a Sister of St. Francis — coordinated the liturgy. Members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Peter Claver, above right, were among those who venerated the relic. (Photos courtesy Dann Ebina)
