  • Jan. 18, 9 a.m., Mass with installation of Father Jaroslaw Skrzypek as pastor of St. John the Baptist Church, Kalihi; 4:30 p.m., Santo Nino Mass, St. George Church, Waimanalo.
  • Jan. 21, 7 p.m., ecumenical Taize service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Newman Center/Holy Spirit Parish, Manoa.
  • Jan. 22, 10 a.m., diocesan department heads meeting, St. Stephen Diocesan Center, Kaneohe; 6:30 p.m., Mass in anticipation of the March for Life with adoration to follow, Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, Honolulu.
  • Jan. 23, 2 p.m., March for Life, state Capitol, downtown Honolulu; 7 p.m., Mass for the memorial of St. Marianne Cope, Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, Honolulu.
  • Jan. 25, 7:30 a.m., Breakfast with the Bishop (including Mass at 9 a.m.), St. John Vianney Church, Kailua.
  • Jan. 29, 5 p.m., Annual Conference of Catholic Educators Donor Appreciation Reception, Pacific Club, downtown Honolulu.

Bishop’s announcements and appointments

  • Bishop Silva has accepted the resignation of Dr. David Coleman as the diocesan representative to Catholic Relief Services and thanks him for his many years of service.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Lisa Dahm as the new diocesan representative to Catholic Relief Services, effective Jan. 1.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Michael DeWitt as the Windward Oahu representative to the Diocesan Pastoral Council, effective Jan. 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
