Parishioners of St. John the Baptist Church in Kalihi gathered in the parish hall Nov. 29 for a special Advent wreath-making event. The workshop offered parishioners a hands-on opportunity to create their own beautiful Advent wreaths to display in their homes throughout the season of Advent.
More than just a craft session, the event also focused on educating participants about the spiritual significance of the tradition. Attendees learned why the Advent wreath is an important part of our Catholic faith and discovered the deep meaning behind each component — from the circular shape to the symbolism of the four candles.
The entire class was organized and executed by the Vasai ohana, who also provided materials and guidance, ensuring that everyone left with a completed wreath and a renewed understanding of the spiritual journey of Advent. Mahalo!
