Photos: Faith, fellowship and fun for all in Waianae

12/03/2025 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Top: Msgr. Gary Secor celebrated the confirmation and first Communion Mass for more than 20 young candidates Nov. 15 at Sacred Heart Church in Waianae. Excitement filled the church as proud parents, sponsors and families shared in the holy sacraments. The parish celebration continued after Mass with dinner and desserts in the church hall with Msgr. Secor joined by Father Carlito Joey Ranjo, pastor of Sacred Heart, and Deacon Morton Zabala. Above: “A picture is worth a thousand words” at Sacred Heart Church! Our annual Halloween celebration Oct. 26 lit up the pastoral hall with joy and laughter; Father Joey affectionately dubbed it “Hall or Treat.” Ministries came together in the spirit of aloha to offer keiki a delightful mix of fun books, tasty snacks and sweet treats — with healthy options, too. It was a beautiful example of fellowship and faith in action. (Glenn Klinger)
