Mary, Star of the Sea opens bereavement ministry to all

10/08/2025 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Special to the Herald

Mary, Star of the Sea Church in Waialae-Kahala is sponsoring a bereavement ministry that offers consolation and support for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. The “Healing Hearts” ministry provides participants with an opportunity to explore mourning through Scripture, prayer, reflection and faith sharing.

If you are coping with the loss of a loved one, we invite you to come to one, two or all six of our sessions. The sessions are open-entry and available to everyone.

The sessions take place on Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. in the parish’s second-floor activity center. They will be held Oct. 11, 18 and 25, and Nov. 1, 8 and 15.

To register or for more information, please email Kanani at healingheartshawaii@gmail.com or call the Mary, Star of the Sea parish office at (808) 734-0396. We look forward to meeting with you!
