Rachel’s Vineyard retreat offers comfort, healing after abortion

09/24/2025 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Hawaii Catholic Herald

Rachel’s Vineyard, a ministry in the diocesan Respect Life office that seeks to offer healing and support after abortion, is welcoming people affected by abortion — either themselves or through another person’s experience — to attend a confidential weekend retreat next month.

The Oct. 10-12 retreat will provide a safe, nonjudgmental place for attendees to express and reconcile their painful emotions associated with abortion and to begin the healing process. Women, men, single people, couples and family members of aborted children are all welcome to seek peace and inner healing.

The retreat will be held at a private retreat center and will begin with arrival at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10. It will end with departure at 5 p.m. Oct. 12.

The fee to attend is $200, which covers materials, accommodations and daily meals and snacks. Need-based scholarships are available.

Space is limited. To find out more or to seek personalized assistance, call Lisa Shorba at (808) 490-4702 or (808) 469-5470, or email RvinHawaii@gmail.com.
