Worldwide Marriage Encounter presents weekend experience

09/10/2025 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Special to the Herald

Married couples seeking to enrich and strengthen their relationship are invited to join a Worldwide Marriage Encounter experience in November at St. Anthony Retreat Center in Kalihi Valley.

The experience will take place over the weekend of Nov. 14-16, beginning in the evening of the first day and ending in the late afternoon on the last day.

Priests are also invited to attend the experience as a way to gain a “better understanding of family life ministries in their parishes/churches,” as well as develop “a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves, (their community) and their relationship with God,” according to the Worldwide Marriage Encounter website.

Brian and Claudine Perry, who are on the WWME Hawaii leadership team, say that their first WWME experience in 1991 transformed their marriage, and “our dream is to share this transformational experience with other married couples and priests in Hawaii.”

The application fee for the weekend is $200, but the Perrys say no couple will be turned away if they cannot afford the fee.

Space is limited. For more information, go to the WWME website at www.hawaiiwwme.org or contact WWME Honolulu leaders Ed and Betty Coda at (808) 258-6688 or codawwme@gmail.com.
