Catholic Men’s Fellowship of Hawaii, a ministry focused on helping Catholic men across the state grow in faith and fellowship, held its second annual Sip & Savor fundraiser July 18 at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii.
Special guest Jesse Romero, a well-known speaker, author and radio show host, and Bishop Larry Silva addressed the gathering.
The event featured the recognition of five individuals chosen by their peers as best exemplifying the qualities of an “authentic Catholic man.”
Each awardee was nominated by his home parish:
- Marcus Briggs, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Wahiawa
- Glenn Chong, St. John Vianney Church, Kailua
- The late Chuck Furr, St. Anthony of Padua Church, Kailua
- Mario Orbito, Blessed Sacrament Church, Honolulu
- LaVern Pieper, Resurrection of the Lord Church, Waipio
