Special to the Herald

The Ohana O Ke Anuenue Region of the Secular Franciscan Order consists of six fraternities on four Hawaiian islands, plus one on Guam.

The region was established under the rules of the national order, which is part of the international order.

It is with great jubilation that the Ohana region announces the results of its successful elective chapter held May 31 at St. Anthony Retreat Center in Honolulu.

We thank the past councilmembers for their dedication.

The following Franciscans have generously gifted their region with their service for the next three years:

  • Minister: Liz Ishimitsu, Mother Marianne Cope Fraternity, Oahu
  • Vice minister: Theresa Babauta, Padre Pio Fraternity, Guam
  • Secretary: Michael Gogo, Padre Pio Fraternity, Guam
  • Treasurer: Benjamin Diaz, Padre Pio Fraternity, Guam
  • Formator: Joann San Nicolas, Padre Pio Fraternity, Guam
  • First counselor: Lawrence Enomoto, Mother Marianne Cope Fraternity, Oahu
  • Second counselor: Stanford Nakamoto, Marianne Cope Fraternity, Oahu
  • Third counselor: Socorro Deguzman, Mother Marianne Cope Fraternity, Oahu
  • Region spiritual assistant: Franciscan Father Mike Dalton, pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Kuliouou

Elections followed the regional visitation with Franciscan Father John De La Riva, a Conference of National Spiritual Assistants friar witness, serving as pastoral visitor, and national councilor Donna Hollis serving as the fraternal visitor and presiding over the elections.

The region generously provided a fraternal agape meal celebration afterward.

Blessings upon those who worked so hard to make these four days a success.
