On Feb. 25, in his office at the state Capitol, Knights of Columbus member Sen. Mike Gabbard presented a state Senate honorary certificate to 96-year-old John J. Brennan in recognition of his 75 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Knights of Columbus.
The certificate mentioned that Brennan is Hawaii’s longest-serving Knight.
In attendance for the historic presentation were state deputy Randy Tom; state treasurer and district deputy Larry Gonzales; state historian and Grand Knight Robert Camilleri; and state life director and Grand Knight Matt Smolko.
Brennan was adorned with lei as the Knights in attendance expressed their gratitude for his 75 years of service to the Knights of Columbus. Gabbard then presented the certificate to Brennan, who thanked the state senator for the honor.
Congratulations to Brother John on this momentous achievement. It may be many years before another member of the Knights of Columbus achieves 75 consecutive years of faithful and dedicated service to this organization.
