All invited to Newman Center to pray for Christian unity

Hawaii Catholic Herald

The Newman Center/Holy Spirit Parish at the University of Hawaii at Manoa will again host the annual ecumenical Taize service this month to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

All are welcome to attend the service on Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Newman Center. It will be about an hour long and include sacred music, Scripture and prayer.

Parking is available at the old Saint Francis School parking lot, 2707 Pamoa Road in Honolulu.For more information, contact the diocesan Office of Worship at alguerrero@rcchawaii.org or (808) 585-3342.

Taize, a type of prayer, refers to an ecumenical Christian community in the French town from which it gets its name. The community includes members of various Christian denominations, including Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox.
