Special to the Herald
The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes the Eucharist as a “sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a paschal banquet ‘in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.’” (CCC 1323)
On June 29, in the presence of the faithful of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Kapaa, Bishop Larry Silva conferred upon 11 children in our faith formation program the sacraments of confirmation and first holy Communion. Father Dario Rinaldi concelebrated the Mass, assisted by Deacons Andy Ragasa and Averiet Soto. The masters of ceremony were Ferdinand Pabustan and John Constantino. A big thank you to the catechists, parents and sponsors for preparing and guiding these children on their faith journey and thank you to their families for participating in this grace-filled day.
May God bless you, Aliyah, Aldrin, Chanceson, Colten, Emerald, Ethan, Ivan, Kane, Kobe, Philip, Onohi, and all first communicants the world over.
