St. Anthony High School’s class of 1969 announces plans for its 55th class reunion this month.
Classmates will first support their alma mater at the annual summer Hoolaulea June 22 on the school’s Sullivan Field. The sunset event opens at 5 p.m. with the luau paina starting at 6. Nevah Too Late is scheduled to provide entertainment.
Hoolaulea tickets are $65.
The reunion for St. Anthony’s “first coed graduating class” will continue June 23 with the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Anthony Church. Classmate Msgr. Terrence Watanabe will be the main celebrant. A memorial board honoring classmates who have passed will be on display. The Sunday Mass will also honor the class of 1974 on its golden 50th anniversary as well as other classes.
Following the Mass and group photo, the class of 1969 will gather for a no-host lunch at Maui Lemongrass at the Kele Center in Kahului. Classmates will pay for their food and drinks within their table seating at checkout; they are encouraged to bring cash for payment convenience.
Although Hoolaulea tickets are on sale through the school office, the 1969 reunion planning committee asks that classmates place their reservations through the committee. Classmates can mail a check, payable to Madeline Pruse, 52 Maha Road, Makawao, HI 96768, or they can Venmo payments to Art Fillazar at @AArthur-Fillazar.
Classmates asked to leave their name, contact information and any additional details such as whether the amount includes donations to the planning committee and/or the school/church.
The deadline to place reservations is June 7. Classmates who are only planning to attend the Sunday lunch are asked to also place that reservation to ensure a proper head count.
