Play about St. Marianne benefits Joseph Dutton Guild

03/27/2024 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

The Damien and Marianne Catholic Conference is hosting “November’s Song,” a one-person play about St. Marianne Cope’s years serving in the Hansen’s disease settlement of Kalaupapa, April 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Honolulu’s Brad Powell Theatre, 65 Iwilei Road, Suite 101.

The event, presented by The Actors’ Group, is a fundraiser for the Joseph Dutton Guild, the organization advocating for the beatification and canonization of Dutton, a contemporary of St. Damien and St. Marianne who spent more than 40 years serving as a volunteer in Kalaupapa.

Theater doors open at 6:45 p.m. Seating is limited. The suggested donation is $75 per ticket and includes a charcuterie bento.

Purchase tickets online at www.josephdutton.org/events-new. Tickets are also available at the Cathedral Gallery gift shop by the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu. For information about the Damien and Marianne Catholic Conference, go to www.dmcchawaii.org.
