Photos: Makawao distribution hub

10/25/2023 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

St. Joseph Church in Makawao, Maui, has turned into a distribution hub for the fire survivors of Lahaina and Kula. Parishes outside of West Maui are making monetary donations to the hub. Baby formula and canned foods are among the many supplies distributed. Persons are able to request what they need through a QR code. A second QR code is for making monetary donations. “We’d like to thank all the donors,” said Frank Szezepanski, St. Joseph’s business manager. “They drop off on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Those in need of items don’t have to sign anything; they can just come in and browse and take what they need. So that’s what the SJC Kokua Team does.” (Photos courtesy of Dann Ebina)
