Announcements/Appointments

  • Very Reverend Lane Akiona, SS.CC., Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, United States Province, has proposed the appointment of Reverend Lusius Nimu, SS.CC., as Parochial Vicar of St. Augustine by the Sea Church, Honolulu. Bishop Silva has confirmed the appointment, effective September 27, 2023. [Note: Father Nimu replaces Father Michael Kamauoha, SS.CC., who will be transferred to another assignment in Massachusetts in mid-October.]
  • Very Reverend Manuel Media, M.S., Provincial Superior of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, has proposed the appointment of Reverend Wilfredo Iminga, M.S., as interim Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Church, Waipahu. Bishop Silva confirmed the appointment, effective September 28, 2023.
  • Bishop Silva announces that Deacon Modesto Cordero, formerly a deacon of the Diocese of Honolulu, has been incardinated as a deacon of the Diocese of Orange, effective September 15, 2023. This was at his own request, since he moved to California permanently in June 2021.
