Poem

09/27/2023 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Victorious

The grass was plentiful and dry,

the wind and fire came, wild and high.

It was Satan’s playground,

The place he found.

“Oh, the church, I’ll show him and burn it today.”

Oh, but Jesus was there, tall and firm and said,

“No, no, this is where my people come to pray.

Stay away, stay away, you evil one.

Your havoc here is done.

You are not welcome in my house ever,

My people and I will protect it forever,

We will do very well,

And you can go straight back to hell.”

Maria Lanakila still stands,

And we all know a miracle is in our hands.
