Bishop’s Schedule

  • June 10, 9:00 am, Diocesan Pastoral Council (video conference); 5:00 pm, Mass with Confirmation & First Holy Communion, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Wahiawa.
  • June 11, 10:30 am, Mass for the Feast of Corpus Christi at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, Honolulu, followed by Eucharistic Procession to the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, downtown Honolulu, and Benediction at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace at 1:00 pm.
  • June 14-16, Spring General Assembly of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Orlando, Florida.
  • June 20, 9:00 am, Diocesan Finance Council (video conference).

Announcements/Appointments

  • Bishop Silva has appointed Reverend Royd Mweemba as Parochial Vicar of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Kailua-Kona, effective June 3, 2023.
  • With the consent of his Provincial Superior, Bishop Silva has appointed Reverend Paterno Labasano, SSS to Diocesan Hospital Ministry, effective July 1, 2023. He will reside at Mary, Star of the Sea Rectory, Waialae-Kahala.
  • Bishop Silva announces the retirement of Deacon LeRoy M. Andrews from diaconal ministry, effective July 1, 2023. He has been assigned to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Papaikou. He remains a deacon in good standing with the full diaconal faculties of the Diocese of Honolulu.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Monday, June 12, 2023, in observance of King Kamehameha Day.
  • The diocesan offices will be closed on Monday, June 19, 2023, in observance of Juneteenth.
