Hawaii joins world rosary relay for priests

05/24/2023 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Hawaii’s turn for the world Rosary Relay for Priests this year is at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, Friday, at 11:30 a.m. on June 16. Participants will be reciting the sorrowful mysteries. All are welcome.

You may also join virtually at hictv.com or through Facebook by going to the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace homepage.

You may pray the rosary anytime and anywhere. All recitations of the rosary on this day are offered for the sanctification of priests. We especially remember Bishop Larry Silva and all priests in the Honolulu diocese.

Father Pascual Abaya, cathedral rector, will deliver the welcome message, to include spiritually receiving the turn to recite the rosary from Basilica Nuestra Senora del Pilar in Buenos Aires in Argentina.

After the recitation of the sorrowful mysteries in our cathedral, he will spiritually send the “baton” to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. For questions about the local event, email Easter Almuena at easter4g@yahoo.com.

For more information about this global event, go to worldpriest.com or send emails to info.worldpriest@gmail.com.
