The Franciscan Associates in Hawaii, on Sept. 17, installed their co-directors and accepted the recommitments of active members.

Their new co-director, Sister of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities Marie Jose Romano, was installed with current co-directors, Socorro DeGuzman and Joy Yadao. All active associates recommitted for another three years.

Sister Donna McGartland, council member of the Franciscan Sisters leadership team from Syracuse, installed the members and accepted their commitments.

Bishop Larry Silva celebrated the Mass in the courtyard of St. Francis Healthcare campus. He was assisted by Deacon Jeff Calamayan. About 60 guests shared potluck dishes and fellowship. Sean Tiwanak, Gavin Kaina and Jeff Kahapea entertained.

A big mahalo to all who helped, especially the music ministry from the 8:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City and the volunteers from the parish’s Filipino ministry who organized the potluck.
