The Diocese of Honolulu will again join the Global Rosary Relay for Priests on the feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, 11:30 a.m. June 24 in the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace. Honolulu participants will recite the Sorrowful Mysteries as their part in this 24-hour worldwide event.
All are invited to attend this event via livestream at honolulucathedral.org/live-stream or at facebook.com/HonoluluCathedralBasilica. You may spiritually join us by praying the rosary where ever you may be at your most convenient time. Parking validations will not be available at the Cathedral, however. Park across the street at Kukui Plaza for lower parking costs.
Marion Mulhall, founder of World Priest and the Annual Global Rosary Relay, says that we need to pray for our priests to be holy. This 24-hour recitation of the rosary encircles the world with its four sets of mysteries for the main intention of sanctification of all priests. In the Honolulu diocese, the prayer will be offered for Bishop Larry Silva and all the priests for continued strength, good health, and thanksgiving for all they do.
Cathedral rector Father Pascual Abaya will spiritually receive Hawaii’s turn from the Basilica Nuestra Senora del Pillar in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon completion of the rosary, he will turn it over to the next location, Nuestro Madre, Santisima de la Luz in Monterrey, Mexico.
