05/11/2022 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Seventh graders at St. John Vianney School placed first in the Olelo Youth Xchange 2022 competition in the public service announcement category for their video “Why Do I Wear My Mask?” April 20 at the Hawaii Convention Center. They are, in the back, from left, Airi Chang, Lily Lukianowicz and Gabriel Brooks. The project was the idea of kindergarten teacher, Mahina O’Connor, who, with Gordon Horiuchi, guided their filming and editing efforts. The school is equally proud of the efforts of first graders Laney Baum, Aliyah Ijima, Sophia Inosanto and Isaiah Spencer who did a fantastic job sharing their messages. (Courtesy photo)
