Praise for a pastor
With respect and per the announcement of Father William Kunisch II’s new appointment that will result in leaving Resurrection of the Lord Parish in Waipio, I would like to express the following: In the time Father William has been at our parish he truly implemented the parish to be for everyone with multitudes of ministries to help everyone including veterans and the needy. Father William will be an important asset wherever he is assigned.
Additionally, and at the same time, Father William made and expanded our parish to make room for everyone. Yes, Father William accomplished and completed multiple difficult situations (because of the COVID dilemma) for the parish. While demolition was in progress to expand the capacity of our church, COVID-19 struck hard. (There was no turning around.)
The endeavors plus timetables became extremely complex and demanding. Father William completed the parish hall (the parish had none before) and just a few months ago completed the project of expanding our Lord’s home. With COVID still a major concern, Father William won’t be able to implement all his good intentions. Our sincere prayers are truly with Father William in his new appointment and for all that was accomplished in this parish.
James J. Carberry, Waipahu
Editor’s note: Father Kunisch has been assigned to St. Anthony Church, Kailua, starting Jan. 1.
