Letters to the Herald: April 16, 2021

04/14/2021 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Msgr. Gary Secor (HCH photo: Anna Weaver)

Comforting to read

Ms. Weaver: Thank you so much for the beautifully written article on Msgr. Gary Secor (March 5, 2021)

I don’t know Msgr. Secor personally, but after reading your work, I know him s much better. I remember some time ago he presided over a couple Masses at St. Elizabeth in Aiea. I remember being one of the lectors at that Mass. Even then he was friendly and approachable. It was a joy to have him with us that Sunday.

It is so comforting to read a positive piece in the paper these days with all the “other stuff” that bombards our lives. I pray that the younger generation of men and women read your article as well, so they can see “a local boy who did/is doing good.”

God bless you and all the staff at the Hawaii Catholic Herald.
