Photo: Memorializing their loss

03/31/2021 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Bishop Larry Silva celebrated a special Mass on the feast of the Annunciation, March 25, at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa in Honolulu with a ceremony for families to remember and name their miscarried children.  After Mass, those that wanted to could take a photo with Bishop Silva. The liturgy was part of the start of a new diocesan ministry for those suffering from the unplanned loss of an unborn baby. For more information on this ministry, contact Jayne Mondoy, director of the Office for Religious Education and Faith Formation, at 203-6745, jmondoy@rcchawaii.org, or Deacon Gerald (Gary) and Valerie Streff, directors of the Respect Life Office at 203-6722, gstreff@rcchawaii.org.
