  • Efrain Andrews, previously ordained as a deacon, petitioned the Holy Father and was granted a rescript of laicization, which includes a dispensation from the marriage impediment of sacred orders. It was dated September 16, 2020, but became effective on October 2, 2020. Mr. Efrain Andrews is still a member in good standing of the Catholic Church but may no longer perform any of the functions reserved to an ordained deacon or present himself as a deacon. We thank him for his many years of service to the Diocese of Honolulu and especially to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pearl City.
