Above, Bishop Larry Silva holds the monstrance carrying the Holy Eucharist in a procession around the parking lot of the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa in Kalihi June 14 on the Feast of Corpus Christi. The bishop’s traditional Corpus Christi procession, the mile walk from the co-cathedral to the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, was canceled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The procession followed the 10:30 a.m. Mass where the bishop initiated the parish’s Elect, administering the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation and first holy Communion to nine children and young adults.
Bottom right, Bishop Silva confirms a newly baptized catechumen anointing him with holy oil using a cotton ball as a precaution against the coronavirus.
