Photo: Retreat break

01/22/2020 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Diocese of Honolulu priests were on retreat at St. Stephen Diocesan Center in Kaneohe from Jan. 6-10. They posed in their usual spot on the stairs near the diocesan offices sporting their customary smiles and casual retreat wear. At center in this photo is Darlene Cachola, administrative secretary for the Office of Clergy, who coordinated the week’s logistics. Leading this year’s retreat was Jesuit Father James Kubicki (to the left of Cachola) who themed the week on “Ministry from the Heart.” Father Kubicki is an author, as well as, experienced retreat leader and minister to Native Americans. He currently serves as the director of St. Francis Mission on the Rosebud Reservation in western South Dakota. He previously facilitated the 2014 Diocese of Honolulu priests’ retreat.
