The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives of the 30th Legislature of the State of Hawaii on Dec. 20 presented a certificate of commendation to Deacon Walter Yoshimitsu, on the occasion of his retirement as director of the Hawaii Catholic Conference, which lobbied at the legislature on behalf of the Diocese of Honolulu. The certificate expressed gratitude to Yoshimitsu for his “statesmanship” and his “extraordinary service to the Catholic community and to the community at large.” Pictured, from left, are Speaker Scott Saiki, Rep.
