St. Anthony offering retreat for the grieving

10/17/2019 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

St. Anthony Retreat Center in Kalihi Valley will offer “And Jesus wept,” a day of prayer and reflection for those who are grieving, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Rose Hill conference room and chapel at 3351 Kalihi Street.

Grief can be experienced in a number of ways — after the death of a loved one, the loss of a pet, retirement, the “empty nest” when the last child leaves home, the loss of health. It affects the whole person, body, mind, spirit, and is unique to each person. Jesus wept at the death of his friend Lazarus (John 11:35).

November is the month we remember our beloved dead. This can be a painful time. Sacred Hearts Sister Marie Lemert will lead participants through prayer and reflection in this time of need. Mass for All Souls’ Day will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

A light lunch will be provided. Registration is required by Monday, Oct. 28. Suggested donation is $25. For more information, or to register, call 845-0065.
