Photo: Live from the cathedral

10/17/2019 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Bishop Larry Silva participated in a special Spanish language live filming session in the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu on Oct. 10. Retired Bishop Gabriel Antonio Camilo González of the Diocese of La Vega in the Dominican Republic travels the world filming segments for his TV show, “La Voz del Obispo.” The Oct. 10 Spanish language segment featured the story of Sts. Damien de Veuster and Marianne Cope. Bishop Silva learned Spanish while a diocesan priest in the Diocese of Oakland and is still proficient in the language. Pictured above from left are Yolanda Guzman, one of the hosts of “La Voz del Obispo,” Bishop Silva and Bishop González.
